Lamont Worley

Lamont Worley, 26, of the 700 block of Nixon Drive, died Aug. 6, 2005 in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. and was preceded in death by his father, William A. Worley.
He was a graduate of Nansemond River High School. He was a member of Gates of Heaven Church of God in Christ, where he was a trumpet player in the music department.
He is survived by two daughters, Ja’Nae Edmonds of Suffolk and Ta’Nijel Worley of Washington, N.C.; one son, Lamont Worley Jr. of Suffolk; his mother, Ann Worley Joe of Suffolk; stepfather, John Joe of Suffolk; four sisters, Brenda Kindred (Alfred), Diana Joe (Minister Eric Joe) of Suffolk, Debbie Worley and Jeannette Worley of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers, Wayne Johnson (Dionne), Joseph Worley and Tony Worley (Charlette), all of Suffolk; four stepsisters, Constance Casper, Connell Adams (Minister George), Elaine Joe and Sharon Joe Artis (Edward); four stepbrothers, Alfred Joe (Everne), John Joe Jr. (Carol), Daniel Joe (Sheila) and Brockley Joe (Bernice); three aunts, Helen McDuffie and Shirley McDuffie, both of Brooklyn, and Brenda Hargett of Suffolk; four uncles, Elder Wallace Johnson (Ethel) of Suffolk, James Johnson (Joanne) of Chesapeake, David Johnson (Jean) of Lynchburg and Billy Johnson of Brooklyn, N.Y. and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 in Gates of Heaven Church of God in Christ by Elder Sylvester Silver. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
