Martha Ercell Holliman Stubbs

Midlothian-Martha Ercell Holliman Stubbs of 14607 Mill Spring Circle, Midlothian, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 in Hopewell Health Care Center in Hopewell. She was a native of Zuni. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua and Martha Bowers Holliman; her husband, William Stubbs; her four sisters, Margaret Holliman, Mirdell Delk, Ion Delk and Eunice Ricks-Bolden and her two brothers, Henry Holliman and Joshua Holliman Jr.
She formerly resided in New Jersey and retired from United Hospital in Newark, N.J. in 1984. She was a member of Messiah Baptist Church in East Orange, N.J.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Sandra R. Stubbs (Robert) Royal of Midlothian and Judith C. Stubbs (Curtis) Dowds of Chula Vista, Calif.; two grandchildren, Deacon Pettigrew R. (Denise) Royal of Drexel Hill, Penn. and Monica E. Tyiska of Odenton, Md.; five great grandchildren, Daria L. White-Tyiska, Brandon R. Royal, Pettigrew R. Royal, Sandra O. Royal and Jonathan A. Tyiska; sister-in-law Virgie Holliman of Suffolk; dear friend, Celeste McCray of Newark, N.J.; nieces and nephews, Evonne (Charles) McKelvin of Suffolk, Richard (Mae) Delk of Plainfield, N.J., Deacon John (Maxine) Delk of Conyers, Ga., Harriet (Ronald) Trent of Somerset, N.J., Henry (Grace) Holliman of Charles City, Jane Curley of Washington D.C., Lilton (Betty) Holliman of Suffolk, Joyce Holliman of Forestville, Md., Gloria (John) Carter of Philadelphia, Penn. And Horace (Ameta) Ricks of Plainfield, N.J., cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Monday, July 25, 2005 at Piney Grove Baptist. The Rev. Larry J. Parker, church pastor, will officiate. The viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church with the service to commence at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 4057 Deer Path Road in Suffolk. The Crocker Funeral Home will handle all arrangements.
