Outdoor Adventure Kamps
For ages 6-10, this adventure camp takes place at Lone Star Lakes Lodge from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8 – 12.
Children will experience a plethora of outdoor activities. The fee is $40 for Suffolk residents and $50 for non- residents. There is a $10 sibling discount. Registration for this camp takes place at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office and ends July 29, 2005.
Ages 11 – 15
This out door adventure camp also takes place at Lone Star Lakes Lodge with the exception of an overnight campout. Other portions of this camp focus on team building and canoeing.
The fee is $90 for Suffolk residents and $113 for non- residents. There is a $10 sibling discount.
Registration for this camp takes place at the Parks and Recreation administrative office and ends July 1, 2005.

Storytime at the Station
From Thursday to Aug. 11, the Suffolk Seaboard Station, Railroad Museum, is presenting Storytime at the Station. Children ages 3-8 can participate. Join Whiskers and friends every Thursday. Ages 3,4 and 5 (15 children maximum), can hear stories from 10:15 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.; for ages 6-8, 11-11:30 a.m. (15 maximum in a group). Reservations are required. The cost is $2 per visit. Call the Seaboard Station at 923-4750 to reserve space.
Cow Pie Bingo
B-I-N-G-O! Try your luck at Cow Pie Bingo. The Suffolk chapter of the American Red Cross will host Suffolk’s first Cow Pie Bingo event.
The cow determines the winner by making a &uot;deposit&uot; on one of the squares. Chances on each square are sold for $10. Only 100 tickets will be sold. The winner will receive a gift basket of local certificates and items valued at over $600. The event will take place at the Suffolk Executive Airport at 3 p.m. Saturday. Attendance is not mandatory to win. The winner will be awarded a gift basket of local certificates and gift items valued at over $600.

Senior aerobics offered
Senior aerobics is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Suffolk Senior Center, 350 N. Main St. Betty Cartwright instructs this class, which is free to seniors 55 and over. For more information call the Senior Center at 923-2372.
Holland UCC welcomes seniors
Holland United Church of Christ, 6733 S. Quay Road, is opening the fellowship hall from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays to all seniors for refreshments and games.
Summer Reading and Math program
The Zeta Epsilon Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is sponsoring its 24th Summer Reading and Math Enrichment Program. The program will be held on weekdays at Booker T. Washington Elementary School through June 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. This program is open to youth that are currently enrolled in grades K-5.
The overall objective of the program is to provide opportunities for students to engage in reading and math activities for enjoyment, enlightenment and enrichment.
Program activities will include comprehension skills, vocabulary skills, recreational reading, creative expressions (oral and written) storytelling, art expression, educational games, computation, and problem solving. There will be presentations from various resource persons and a cookout on June 25. The program is free. If interested, call 657-6313 or 934-1514. Children can be registered at the Booker T.
