Thomas L. Artis, son of Daisy Lee Copeland Artis and the late Tommy Artis, was born on June 25, 1938 in Windsor. God called him home to rest on June 6, 2005 at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Suffolk. He was educated in Virginia.

He is survived by his mother, Daisy Lee Artis; sister, Mary Lewis; a devoted cousin, Saul Bailey; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2005 at Piney Grove Baptist Church.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2005 and a wake service from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The interment will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. T. E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home is in charge.
