Roland Langston

Roland Eugene Langston, 88, of the 8100 block of Whaleyville Boulevard, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 in Suffolk. He was born in Suffolk, on July 13, 1916, to the late Henry and Minnie Langston. He was preceded in the journey to the Great Beyond by his devoted wife, Thelma Sweat Langston; a son, James Arthur Langston; two sisters and two brothers.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Planters Peanut Company. He was a member of Palm Tree Baptist Church.
He will be missed and his memory will be treasured by his sons, Milton W. Langston and his wife, Marsha Langston of Gates County, Henry C. Langston and Otis Burtell Edwards, both of Suffolk; his daughter, Thelma Cynthia Langston of Suffolk; four sisters, Ruth Boone, Annie Wiggins, Evelyn Collins, and Ruby Edwards all of Suffolk; six grandchildren; eighth grandchildren; aunt, Geneva Watford of New Haven, Conn.; two sisters-in-law, Mayrna White and Lillian Copeland; two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in Palm Tree Baptist Church by the Rev. Dallas Sharpe. The interment will be in the Langston Family Cemetery.
