Mary L. Wellons

Mary Louise Wellons, 63, of the 400 block of Woodruff St., Suffolk, died May 14, 2005 in Obici Memorial Hospital.
A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Wellons and Hannah B. Hill. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eugenia W. Goodman and a brother, Herman Lee Wellons.
She attended Georgia Tyler High School and was retired from Federal Mogul Company. She was a member of Sandy Mount Baptist Church of Smithfield and served on the Usher Board.
She is survived by one daughter, Robin R. Clarke of Windsor; two stepsons, Jermaine Clarke of Smithfield and Brandon Stewart of Suffolk; two brothers, James Earl Wellons (Jerry) and Sgt. Major Ret. William R. Hill (Saralyn) of Fayetteville, N.C.; three grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Martha Wellons of Windsor; a devoted brother-in-law, William M. Goodman; two aunts, Helen Goodman and Dorothy Holloman of Suffolk; and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 in Sandy Mount Baptist Church by the Rev. John D. Davis III. The interment will be in Tynes Memorial Cemetery, Smithfield. The family will receive friends at Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and will be at the home of William M. Goodman, 2206 Arizona Ave., Suffolk, from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
