Regina Weatherly Hitt, 70, died May 10, 2005.
Born September 22, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Lillian Connell and John Russell Weatherly. She retired as an accountant with the Civil Service.
She was secretary of the Tidewater Bluegrass Music Association, a member of the Virginia Country Music Association and a retired member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Robert J. Hitt; two daughters, Caroline Hoag and Colleen Hitt, both of Suffolk; two sons, Robert J. Hitt Jr. of Grand Bay, Ala., and Mark R. Hitt of Woodbridge; one sister, Bernadene Hert of Euless, Texas; two brothers, Darrell Weatherly of Prineville, Ore., and John Leon Weatherly of Roundup, Mont.; brother-in-law, Edward Beals of Hertford; six grandchildren, Melissa Hitt, Elizabeth Hitt, Christopher Hitt, Jason Hoag, Scott Hitt and Sean Hitt.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Reynolds with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
