Richard L. Tayloe

Richard Lee Tayloe, 65, of the 600 block of Turlington Road, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2005.

Born in Ahoskie, N.C., Mr. Tayloe was retired after 30 years of service with Bell Atlantic. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of West End Baptist Church and the Suffolk Golf Association.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Carolyn Christopher Tayloe; his mother, Ruby Reese Tayloe; two sons, Mark Allen Tayloe and Richard Timothy Tayloe; one sister, Barbara T. Mizelle and husband, Henry all of Suffolk; two grandsons, Christopher Lee and Matthew Allen Tayloe; nieces, Heather Asbell and husband, Drey, Tobi Byrd and husband, Jimmy, Kaite Tayloe and Emily Tayloe; four nephews, Neal A. Christopher, Taylor C. Mizelle, Troy and Damon Peirce; his mother-in-law, Mary York; sister-in-law, Carol Tayloe, brother-in-law and wife, Neal and Linda Christopher.

He was predeceased by his father, Julian Brown Tayloe and his brother, Frank G. Tayloe.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2005 in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery by Rev. T. Floyd &uot;Skip&uot; Irby and Rev. Stewart McCarter.

Friends may join the family at the Harrell and Hill Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening for visitation.
