Cavs, Dogs split on the courts

King’s Fork and visiting Lakeland each racked up 7-2 victories on Tuesday afternoon, with the Fork boys and Lakeland girls bringing home victories.
In boys competition, L.T. Twitty won in singles and teamed with Antonio Mielak for a doubles victory.
Fork’s Shane Doherty, Michael Steingold, David Wilkelis, Jerome Golden and Austin Sergeant won in singles, and the doubles squads of Sullivan-Doherty and Seargeant-Golden brought home wins.
Marianne Carr, Kate Rawls, Christina Byrd, Wendy Spence and Kristi Hall won in singles competition for Lakeland, as did the doubles teams of Carr-Rawls and Whitney Smith and Lauren Walters.
Brittany Jenkins won for Fork, and Adreanne Stephenson and Tamea Byrum teamed for a doubles win. The Bulldogs returned to action late Wednesday against Deep Creek
Bart Grover, Kunal Kapoor, Sidd Shah and Peter Duckett won in singles competition, and Grover and Kapoor took a doubles match as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy edged Walsingham 5-4.
