The scholarship committee of the Suffolk Christian Church is seeking applications for three scholarships given annually to current Elon students and high school seniors accepted for study at Elon University. Applications should be mailed to the Scholarship Committee, Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434-4421. The deadline for the applications is Friday.

Oxford United Methodist new outreach program

Oxford United Methodist Church, 601 W. Washington St., has initiated a new outreach program for children in the intermediate area of the church. The &uot;Covenant Club&uot; for boys and girls from ages 6-13 will meet from 10 a.m. to noon on the third Saturday of each month.

The club features music, stories, games, art and snacks. Each child must have a signed permission slip by parent or guardian before attending. To receive a permission slip, call the church office at 539-8253 between 9 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday.

Potter’s House Anniversary

Potter’s House Christian Fellowship Center, located at 132 Bank St., will be celebrating their 10th annual 100 Youth-in Jeans service at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
