Edwin Cordero

Edwin Cordero, 67, of 225 Poplar Drive, Elizabeth City, N.C., went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 10, 2005. He was a native of Puerto Rico, son of the late Manuel Cordero and Ramona Rodriquez Cordero and husband of Nancy Barnhill Cordero of the residence. He served in the US Navy, owner and operator of Eddies Auto Center and U-Hauls and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by his four sons; Edwin Cordero Jr. of Suffolk, Victor &uot;Tony&uot; Cordero of Staunton; David Cordero of Lancaster, Pa.; and Christopher Cordero of Elizabeth City; three daughters, Dina Marie Bazzle, Angela Cordero Jones and Teresa Rose all of Suffolk; two sisters, Dina Garcia of Laguna Hills, Calif., and Carmen &uot;Sasa&uot; Acevedo of Brooklyn, N. Y.; one brother, Hector Cordero of Sparkill, N.Y. and ten grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Angel Cordero.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 in Victory Baptist Church with the Revs. Reggie Parker and Arthur McGahan officiating. The burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City.
