Revival team to hold service
As the contributing feature of Youth Week at the First Baptist Church, a revival team from the University of Richmond will be in charge on Sunday.
The team will arrive on Saturday and lead the young people of the church in visitation, recreation and fellowship activities.
Dickie Spain, a junior at the University and native of Petersburg, will serve as leader of the team. Being active in campus activities, Mr. Spain is president-elect of the state Baptist Student Union for next year, a member of the University Ministerial Association, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa scholastic fraternity and president of Phi Gamma Delta social fraternity.
Sorority to hold banquet
The annual Founder’s Day Banquet of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will be held April 30 at Planter’s Club Mrs. Hersey Trump Jr., chairman of the project announced at a meeting Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Jacob L. Woodward on Western Avenue.
Mrs. Martin Goldener conducted the meeting and the sorority voted to send a child to Camp Easter Seals, which is sponsored by the Virginia Society for Crippled Children and Adults. The sorority also voted to assist with the forthcoming Cancer Fund Drive.
It was also announced that a silver cup will be presented to the sorority president.
