Fannye Virginia Russell of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brutus C. Russell Sr. Mrs. Russell was a graduate of Portsmouth Business College during the 60’s and 70’s and in her retirement, she and her husband operated an antique shop at the Village Auction Barn in Suffolk. She was a member of West End United Methodist Church in Portsmouth.

Survivors include two sons, Brutus C. Russell Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Montpelier and Ronald E. Russell of Richmond; two grandchildren, Adam L. Russell of Boston, Mass. and Benjamin R. Russell of McClean. A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, March 3, 2005 in Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth. Arrangements are being handled by the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, Glen Allen.
