Baker crowned Miss NSU Alumni

Jennifer B. Baker, a native of Suffolk, was crowned Miss Norfolk State University (NSU) Alumni on Nov. 4, 2004 at L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center.
Two days later, she represented the NSU Alumni Association Inc. in the Homecoming Parade and was recognized during the halftime festivities at the Homecoming Game.
Baker received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and physical education from NSU in 1973. She has worked for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth for 28 years, where she is a production controller, responsible for researching and purchasing equipment for naval ships.
Baker is a charter member of the Suffolk Alumni Chapter and has been serving as its president since 1997. She worships at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves on the trustee board, is the assistant church clerk and chairperson of various auxiliaries. She is also a member a member of the East Suffolk Federated Civic League, the NSU Athletic Foundation and a life member of the NSU Alumni Association Inc.
Baker resides in Suffolk and is married to David Baker. She has one daughter, Tara Britt (Franco) and a grandson, DaMarco.
