Mildred S. Dailey

Mildred Bernice Schramm Dailey, 89, of Newport News, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at her residence.
Born June 9,
1915, in Southampton Co., VA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Henton and Lizzie Cotton Schramm, the granddaughter of the late Armenious Gayhardt and Lula Crumpler Schramm and the late James Sephus and Rosa Vaughan Cotton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, W. C. Dailey Jr., December 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Patricia Dailey Freeman of Newport News, a granddaughter, Jennifer Carolyn Jones of Clearwater, FLA, a sister, Eunice Gayhardt Schramm Wolford and her husband, Byron Wolford of Richmond; and three devoted CNAs, Pat Tanner, Marsha Anim and Renee Jacobs.
Mrs. Dailey graduated from Chuckatuck High School and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She retired from Ft. Monroe, HQ TRADOC in 1977.
A Service of Celebration of her life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 4700 Huntington Ave., Newport News on Saturday, July 24, at 11 am with interment at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 7-8:30 pm on Friday at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News.
