Laura Josephine Smallwood

Laura &uot;Josephine&uot; Smallwood departed this life Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at her residence. She was a native of Como, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late George Henry Bottoms and Elsie Monger Bottoms. She was preceded in death by grandson Christopher J. Myers. She was a member of United Full Gospel Revival Center, where she served on the Mother’s board. She retired as a school bus driver and later with the Suffolk Sheriff’s Department.
She leaves to mourn her memory two daughters Patricia A. Myers (Willie), Chesapeake; Gwendolyn Macklin-Wendell, Detroit, Michigan; two grandsons Jay A. Cooper of Suffolk; and Jason L. Myers of Chesapeake; six other grandchildren, one great grandchild; one Goddaughter, Annette Scott, Franklin; two sisters Monolia Johnson (Cliff), Neptune, New Jersey; and Mary Simmons (Donald), Magnolia, Delaware; one brother Edward Bottoms, Suffolk, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 11 am at United Full Gospel Revival Center, 312 Constance Road, Suffolk. Entombment in Meadowbrook Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends at the residence at 1200 Truman Road, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk is in charge of arrangements.
