Warner T. Taylor

Warner T. Taylor, 79, of 4413 Whaleyville Blvd., died July 7, 2004 at Obici Hospital. A native of Brunswick County, Virginia, he was born to the late Arthur C. Taylor and Sarah C. Taylor. Warner was preceded in death by one brother, Hilliard Taylor and one sister, Mary T. Pryor of Baltimore.
He retired as a shop foreman from Borden’s Chemicals of Norfolk and a maintenance worker from the Suffolk School System.
He was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church where he served on the Number Two choir, Senior Usher Ministry, Trustee and Deacon Ministry. He served faithfully until his health began to fail, at which time he was appointed Trustee and Deacon Emeritus.
He is survived by his wife, Iness E. Taylor; three sons, Thomas and his wife Peggy, Barney and his wife Lennis, and Reginald and his wife Carla; one daughter, Jean Taylor-Payne and her husband Robert; two brother, Louis C. Taylor and his wife Inell of Washington and Eddie L. Hicks of Suffolk; a sister, Virginia Starke of Baltimore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 1 p.m. in Tabernacle Christian Church by Dr. Carlton R. Upton Sr. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Crocker Funeral Home Friday from 7 to 8 p.m.
