Leatha Greene Felton, 83, of the 300 block of White Oak Road, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in Guardian Care of Ahoskie.

Mrs. Felton was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late Exum Calhoun and Novella Eure Greene. A retired clerk and meat cutter from Tar Heel Bar-Be-Que, she was a member of Eure Christian Church and its Women’s Fellowship.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Allen Felton, she is survived by her daughter, Nell F. Wiggins and husband Rickie of Gates; her son, Allen Felton of Suffolk; her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Felton of Chesapeake; two sisters, Ruby Mullen and Daisy Taylor, both of Eure; two brothers, Roland Greene of Suffolk and Truman Greene of Eure; and three grandchildren, Jim Felton of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., and Krystal Wiggins and Grace Wiggins, both of Gates.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Smith, Meddie Felton, and Leona Batts; and brothers, Troy Greene and Curtis Greene.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., in Eure Christian Church by the Rev. Wayne Gardener. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in the funeral home and other times at the home of Nell and Rickie Wiggins, 876 NC 37, Gates.
