Mrs. Dorothy W. Boone, 89, of 8917 New Road, Suffolk, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Nansemond County, a daughter of the late Willis J. and Mrs. Delia Eaton Wiggins, and widow of Haywood G. Boone.

She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, its Senior Choir and Willing Workers Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Doretha Johnson and Brenda Holland of Suffolk; one son, Frankie Boone of Franklin; two sisters, Inez Walden and Ruth Lawrence of Suffolk; one grandson; one step-granddaughter, three sisters-in-law, Virgie Mae Cherry and Dorothy Wiggins of Suffolk; and Irma B. Hudgins (Allen) of Franklin; and one brother-in-law, Herman Boone of Courtland.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph H. Goode. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken at 11 a.m. from Peebles Funeral Home to the church.
