SuffolkFirst Bank, the city’s fastest growing bank, celebrated the grand opening of its second office at 1000 N. Main St., in the Suffolk Plaza, with a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday. Larry L. Felton, chairman of the board, welcomed guests, and Dr. Ruffin Alphin gave the invocation. Suffolk Mayor E. Dana Dickens III officially cut the ribbon, assisted by Darrell G. Swanigan, president and CEO of the bank, and Wesley Weatherby (both above in the center). Swanigan announced that total assets of the bank have grown to over $50 million in 13 months. He attributed the extraordinary growth to the support of shareholders and customers, and the warm and friendly hometown service of the SuffolkFirst employees and management team.
