Presidents Day will be observed Monday, giving many people an extra day off for the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Students attending Suffolk Public Schools will not have class Feb. 16. However, teachers will work from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a staff development day.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will operate at its usual time for both teachers and students.

If you haven’t gotten city decals by Friday, you will have to wait an extra day because all city offices and courts will be closed. Most banks will also be closed.

The Suffolk News-Herald, department stores and supermarkets will operate at their normal hours.

All Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers will be closed on Monday.
