Alethia Peele Hollowell, 99, formerly of Corapeake, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 12 2004, in Nansemond Pointe Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Hollowell was born in Chowan County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late George and Maggie Harrell Peele.

A homemaker, she was a member of Eureka Baptist Church and the Ida K. Brinkley Sunday School Class.

Preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Forehand Hollowell, she is survived by a daughter, Margaret H. Sarick, and husband, Nick, of Suffolk; and a son, Robert W. Hollowell, and wife Faye, of Chesapeake; a half-sister, Mary Lou Belch and a half-brother, Clinton Peele, both of Edenton.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Eureka Baptist Church by the Rev. Cameron Currin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, or in the church social hall following the service.
