Lady Saints win low-scoring affair

Ann-Taylor Spain scored 15 points and Lexi Holland scored 13 as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy won a defensive battle over host Hampton Roads Academy, 34-23 Friday evening. The Lady Navigators were held to eight points or less in all quarters.
In boys’ competition, the Saints were unable to withstand a late comeback by host HRA, culminating in a 47-42 defeat. The Saints led for much of the first three quarters, only to fall victim to a 15-8 rush in the fourth. Bo Garner led the team with 14 points, while Adam Gillette had nine points and eight assists. The teams will travel to Peninsula Catholic on Tuesday.
