Arlene Johnson, daughter of the late Mary Lizzie Wiggins, was born on Aug. 24, 1897, in the Holland borough of Nansemond County. She passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home, Portsmouth. She formerly lived at 9201B Southwestern Blvd., Suffolk.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sullivan Johnson.

At an early age, Arlene moved to Philadelphia, Pa., and remained until 1964.

She was a member of Corinth Chapel Christian Church and a choir member.

She leaves to cherish her memory a friend, Evelena Johnson, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral takes place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Corinth Chapel Christian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Viewing takes place from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home.
