The Nansemond River wrestling team pulled out a 47-24 win over Indian River Saturday morning at Great Bridge (the Wildcats later defeated the Warriors).

David De Triquet, John Kleps, Brent Christie, Chris Suarez, Brandon Aston, Brian Hawk, Ben Streetman and Justin Funaro all won their respective matches. The Warriors will host crosstown rival Lakeland on Wednesday.

Caging ladies go 0-2 Friday

The Nansemond River and Lakeland girls basketball teams were unsuccessful Friday night, as the Lady Warriors fell to Indian River and the Lady Cavaliers to Great Bridge. NR will host Deep Creek Tuesday, while Lakeland visits Hickory.

Windsor Athletics holding signups soon

The Windsor Athletic Association will be holding signups for spring baseball and softball from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Jan. 31 and from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Windsor Youth Sports Complex on Rt. 258.

The Chuckatuck Little League will be holding registration at the Chuckatuck fire department on King’s Highway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 31.
