Gloria Purrington Scott, 66, of 179-12 Leslie Road, Queens, N.Y., died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at her residence.

Mrs. Gloria P. Scott was born on Dec. 8, 1937, in Suffolk. She was the daughter of Frouline P. Jernigan, and the late James Colbert. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Scott Jr.; mother-in-law, Gladys Faltz; stepsister, Estelle Branch; and two stepbrothers, Haywood Colbert and William Colbert.

She was employed by Oceana Naval Air Station and had retired from there after more than 20 years of service.

She was a 1955 graduate of East Suffolk High School, and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Frouline P. Jernigan of Queens; one daughter, Laverne Scott of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Chiquita Scott, Asheema Scott and Anthony Scott of Suffolk; two stepsisters, Shirley Freeman, and husband, Gary, of Suffolk; and Annie Dillard of Baltimore, Md.; seven sisters-in-law, Mary Roberts and Barbara Scott, both of Heamstead, N.Y.; Armenta Cross, and husband, Elonza, Diane Scott, and Marion Scott, all of Suffolk; Betty Scott of Chesterfield; and Mary Faltz of Courtland, one brother-in-law, Ray Scott, and wife, Gloria, of Suffolk; and many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 13 in Crocker Funeral Home by Bishop Madison Copeland.

The body will be ready for viewing today in the funeral home.

The family will receive friends at 317 Bullock St.
