Elvin Deacon Jakeman, 58, of Suffolk, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003.

Born on Aug. 1, 1945, in Danville, he was the son of the late Elmer Thorne and Mary Elizabeth Deacon Jakeman.

Elvin was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his aunts, Vera Bright of Suffolk and Louise Christianson of Danville; and a number of cousins.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory by the Rev. Robert L. Parks, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
