Christopher &uot;Chris&uot; A. Wright, 36, entered suddenly into eternal rest on July 18, 2003, at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, Md.

He was a native of Suffolk and the son of Marion B. Wright and the late Willie L. Wright. He had made his home in Suitland, Md. He was a 1985 graduate of the former John F. Kennedy High School and a 1991 graduate of Virginia State University. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a program manager for UNISYS Co. He was a former member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Ebenezer African Methodist Church, Fort Washington, Md. and served in the Youth Mentoring Ministry.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Valerie S. Wright; a son, DeVante Phillips of Suitland, Md.; his mother, Marion B. Wright of Suffolk; four aunts, Carol B. Diggs (Henry) of Portsmouth; Janice B. Howell (Donald) of Suffolk; Allie B. Colbert and Mary B. Duncan of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four great aunts, Inez Colbert and Louise Jolly of Suffolk; and Ann Colbert and Esther Eure of New Jersey; four uncles, Joseph Bemory (Rose) of New Jersey; William &uot;Harold&uot; Wright (Evelyn) and Fred Beale of Suffolk; and William Beale (Renate) of Portsmouth; his mother and father-in-law, George and Sylvia Phillips of Connecticut and many cousins and other relatives.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Suitland, Md.

A wake will also be held from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday at Crocker Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Nansemond-Suffolk Ceme-tery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
