Samuel H. Bristow

Samuel Hardy Bristow, 72, of 7037 Azalea Garden Rd., Norfolk, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2003.
A native of Suffolk, and son of the late Thomas N. and Addie Joyner Bristow, he was a member of Suffolk Christian Church.
He retired as a machinist for Norfolk Naval Air Station in 1990.
He was an avid bowler and fisherman. His later years were spent with friends at Q-Master Billiards.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 49 years, Evelyn Edwards Bristow; three daughters, Marilyn B. Williams, and husband, Ricky, Pamela B. Jordan, Valerie Durand, and husband, Lee; five grandchildren, Jason Jordan, L.J., Thomas, Michael, and Christian Durand; four sisters, Martha B. Koon, Louise B. Dowling, Claudette B. Arrington, and Janie B. Turner; and two brothers, Arthur B. Bristow and James E. Bristow; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Gene V. Primm.
Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
