Mrs. Bessie Walker, 64, 1732 Macedonia Road, Suffolk, died July 9, 2003 at Obici Hospital.

She was a native of Nansemond County and was the daughter of the late Howard Foster and the late Mittie Crocker Foster. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Walker.

She was retired from Smithfield Packing Company and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Hobson.

Survivors include two sisters, Henrietta Hatton and Velma Lee, both of Suffolk; two brothers, Howard Foster Jr. (Daisy) and Edward Foster (Margaret), both of Suffolk; devoted nieces, Denice Cole, New York, Doris Hatton, Hampton, Towana Powell and Bernice Foster, both of Suffolk; five step grandchildren; two devoted friends, Geogette Thomas and Linda Eley; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held on Monday, July 14, at 2 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church, Hobson, by the Rev. Jeffrey Knight. Burial will be in Macedonia Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Monday. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge of services.
