Staff report
Motorists parked in downtown Suffolk no longer have to worry about having their cars towed after 4 p.m.
City Manager R. Steven Herbert has lifted the ban that restricts on-street parking from 4-6 p.m. Monday to Friday on North Main Street, between Market and Washington streets. Effective today, people can now park on both sides of the street seven days a week.
The ban is being lifted because downtown traffic has decreased since the opening of the Southwest Suffolk Bypass earlier this year, Councilman Bobby Ralph said.
