Staff report
A local car dealership will be expanding to the 22-acre site where the former Louise Obici Memorial Hospital is now being razed.
Beach Ford, which also owns Barton Ford and Lincoln-Mercury in downtown Suffolk, has a contract on the property, according to Jim Dyche, vice president of Beach Ford.
The company already has a new collision repair and service center on North Main Street and a sales lot on Pruden Boulevard.
Although the agreed upon sale price was not available, Obici’s asking price for the site had been $4.85 million.
The sale is due to be finalized after the demolition is finished.
