Alice T. Beamon

On Monday, June 2, 2003, Alice Ruth Tyler Beamon departed this life.
Alice was born on April 28, 1923. At an early age she joined Parker’s Grove Baptist Church in Mapleton, N.C., where she remained a faithful member until moving to Suffolk. After raising her children and grandchildren, she went on to pursue a career in the nursing profession.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Beamon Sr.; her parents, Odell and Will Tyler; brothers, Maryland, Leo, Charles, Eddie, and Spurgeon; and sister, Lulabelle.
She is survived by one brother, Luther Howard Tyler, and wife, Helen, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; five children, Carolyn Tyler Beamon of Suffolk; Johnnie Tyler, and wife, Deborah, of Norfolk; James Tyler, George T. Beamon Jr. and Randolph Beamon, and wife, Gloria, of New York City, N.Y.; devoted grandchildren, Tonya Gary, and husband, Kevin, of College Park, Md.; and Adrian Skinner of Suffolk; many adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a visitation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, in Crocker Funeral Home, 900 E. Washington St.
The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday in Parker’s Grove Baptist Church, Mapleton, N.C. with interment at Carver Park Cemetery, Murfreesboro, N.C.
