George E. Ross, 72, of Hampton, passed away Monday, April 21, 2003.

Born in Bristol, Va., he had been a longtime resident of the Peninsula.

Mr. Ross is survived by his wife, Claudette B. Ross; his step-children, Anthony Wheeler of Los Angeles, Calif.; Janice Didly and Wilbert Wheeler Jr., both of Suffolk; Patricia Crandell, and her husband, Willie, of Newport News; and Tyrone Wheeler of New York City, N.Y.; his brothers, Fred Ross of Columbus, S.C.; and Tony Ross of Virginia Beach; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, in Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton, by the Rev. F.M. Blackwell.

Immediately following, the family will receive friends.

The graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Quantico National Cemetery.
