Mr. and Mrs. William Hevener IV of Suffolk announce the engagement of her daughter, Kelly Joy Duke, to Bartek Piotr Drewnowski of Richmond. Miss Duke is also the daughter of the late R. Eley Duke Jr.

Mr. Drewnowski is the son of Dr. Krystyna P. Drewnowska Coates and Mr. Wojtek S. Drewnowski of Richmond.

Miss Duke is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Duke of Suffolk, Mrs. H. Cecil Owens of Grenada, Miss., and the late Mr. James Hollis Gary.

Mr. Drewnowski is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Janusz Drewnowski of Warsaw, Poland, as well as Dr. Zbigniew Przymanowski and Dr. Hanna Przymanowska of Gdansk, Poland.

She is a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and James Madison University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in integrated science and technology.

She is a software developer for Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance in Richmond.

He is a graduate of Monacan High School and James Madison University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology.

He is the ski patrol director at Massanutten Resort, and employed by Degesch America in Richmond.

A September 2003 wedding is planned in Suffolk.
