Synda E. Knight

Synda E. Knight, 51, of 620 Rhode Island Ave., N.E., Washington, D.C., died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Howard University Medical Hospital in Washington, D.C.
A native of Suffolk, Va., she was born on May 5, 1951 to Mr. Harvey L. Knight Sr. and Mrs. Annie L. Taylor Knight of Suffolk.
She was a 1970 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, and a graduate of Maryland Institute Business School. She worked as a supervisor at the Center City Hotel in Washington, D.C.
She is also survived by two sisters: Mrs. Dianne Knight-Worrell and Cosette Knight, both of Suffolk; three brothers, Harvey L. Knight Jr., and his wife, Patricia Sweat-Knight, of Suffolk; Van Knight of Suffolk; and Dwayne Knight, and wife, Melvonia Council-Knight of Paducah, Ky.; a lifelong and devoted friend, Judy Lawrence-Lamb of Chesapeake. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Tabernacle UCC, where the Rev. Carlton R. Upton is the pastor. Interment will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
The family will be at the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey L. Knight Sr., 113 Marshall Ave., Suffolk, Oakdale section of the city.
