Charles and Laura Sydnor of York, Pa. announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Ashley Sydnor, to Jarratt Eugene Harvell, both of Charlottesville.

He is the son of Gene and Mary Harvell of Williamsburg, and the maternal grandson of Elliott Horton of Suffolk, and the late Mary Ida Horton, and paternal grandson of Clifford Harvell of Suffolk, and the late Marjorie Harvell.

Samantha is a graduate of Walsingham Academy and the University of Virginia.

She is employed by the Psychology Department at UVA.

Jarratt is also a graduate of Walsingham and Virginia Tech.

He is employed at the Gap.

The wedding will take place Saturday, June 14, 2002 in Corolla, N.C.
