The Thanksgiving Holiday is over, and now it is time to look forward to the Christmas season and how to make it a happy one for about 1,653 underprivileged children. You can do this by contributing to the Suffolk News-Herald Cheer Fund.

To date, the fund is at a total of $4,083.41 and moving slowly toward its goal of $37,151 for the year 2002.

Bill Ashley and his &uot;Toys for Tots Committee are now busy at work on a daily basis to make sure that things go like clockwork when toys are distributed about a week prior to Christmas Day. You can do the same by sending your tax deductible donation to the Suffolk Cheer Fund, c/o Suffolk News Herald, 130 S. Saratoga St., Suffolk, Virginia 23434 or bringing it to the same address between the hours of 8:30 and 5 p.m.
