Dennis &uot;Wimpy&uot; Fields of 200 Wellons St., Suffolk, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk, and was a son of the late Solomon Whitfield and Catherine Fields Whitfield. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Fields, and grandfather, Al Fields.

He is survived by daughters, Kem Johnson, Paulette Faye Butler, and husband, Huley Butler, of Suffolk, Delores Boykins of Pennsylvania, and Wanda Boykins of New York; sons, Clarence Gamble and Larry Gamble, both of Suffolk, and George Fields, and wife, Bernice Fields, of South Carolina; sisters, Ann Smith, and husband, the Rev. George L. Smith, and Catherine Sylvia Jordan, and husband, Gregory K. Jordan, all of Suffolk; brother, Solomon J. Whitfield, and wife, Brenda Whitfield, of Woodbridge; grandmother, Josephine Fields; and several grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Crocker Funeral Home by the Rev. George Smith. Interment will be held in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at 200 Wellons St., and 807 Seminole Dr.

The family will assemble at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at 200 Wellons St. for the procession to the funeral home.
