Lakeland, NSA both take losses on the gridiron

Lakeland High School suffered a 25-19 defeat against Great Bridge on Friday night, and Nansemond-Suffolk Aca-demy lost 21-0 against host St. Anne’s of Belfield. The NSA girls’ basketball also lost reportedly to Norfolk Collegiate, but that score was unavailable at press time.
Starkey scores, but Saints still fall, 4-1
Garrett Starkey scored the lone goal for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on Friday as their Saints fell to visiting Norfolk Collegiate 4-1. Brandon DeLong and Travis McKee assisted on Starkey’s goal. The Saints (3-7-1) will head to Norfolk Academy on Tuesday.
Saints lose in three games at volleyball
Nansemond Collegiate defeated host Nansemond-Suffolk Academy at volleyball on Friday evening, beating the Saints 25-21, 25-22, 25-19. Brandon Winslow had eight kills for the Saints, and Allen Bynum added five. The Saints will visit Cape Henry on Tuesday.
