News-Herald suspends baseball publication

Effective Aug. 27, the Suffolk News-Herald will cease publication of major league baseball scores and statistics. This is done in response to the upcoming strike in the major leagues, which is scheduled to begin on Friday.
&uot;We’re not going to waste space on games that won’t mean anything if this strike ends the season,&uot; explained sports editor Jason Norman. &uot;If the strike is averted, we’ll be glad to start running scores and stats again.&uot; Those with questions or comments are encouraged to call 934-9614.
Friday’s NSA football game moved to 4:30 p.m.
The Nansemond-Suffolk Ac-ademy football home football game against Christchurch on Friday has been moved to 4:30 p.m.
&uot;NSA is installing new lights this year and we cannot be positive that they will be ready for the first game,&uot; said athletic director Randy Davis.
