Jamie Howell, a rising junior at Nansemond-Suffolk Aca-demy (NSA), recently attended a cheerleading camp in Blacks-burg, sponsored by the National Cheerleading Association (NC-A), considered by many to be the premier cheerleading organization in this country.
All of the varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders at NSA attended the camp.
Out of some 250 participants, approximately 130 girls were nominated for the All-American award.
Howell was one of less than 25 participants to receive the designation.
Howell is a member of the NSA varsity cheerleading team, the reigning TCIS champions.
She is also an all-star cheerleader with the Senior Silver squad of American Cheer Elite (ACE).
Four of her Senior Silver teammates, all from Va. Beach, were also selected as NCA All-Americans.
Howell’s ACE squad is the reigning Tidewater Cheerlead-ing Association (TCA) champion, the reigning State of Virginia Champion, and reigning World Spirit Federation national champion.
In May, Howell was selected to be included in the &uot;Who’s Who&uot; of cheerleading by the United States Achievement Academy for the second consecutive year.
