BRONX, N.Y. — Kelley David Saunders Sr., 60, died on Friday, April 16, 2010 in St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. A native of Suffolk, Va., Kelley was born to Lee Curtis Saunders and Flossie Green Saunders-Eure on March 25, 1950. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Curtis Saunders; a brother, Richard H. Saunders; and a sister, Curtis Lee Callis.
He is survived by his devoted and dear friend of 21 years, Ruth Smith; his estranged wife, Arnita G. Saunders, of Smithfield; his daughter, Aisha M. Wise (Thomas); sons, Kelley D. Saunders Jr. and Kelby Saunders (Kendra), all of Smithfield, Va., Kelly Perry-Saunders, of North Carolina; three stepchildren, Fannie Smith, of Jacksonville, Fla., John Smith and Anetra Smith, both of New York; three sisters, Bettie White, Mary Edith Saunders and Carolyn Palmer (James); four brothers, Robert M. Saunders, Joe B. Saunders (Mary), George W. Saunders and Harry V. Saunders (Searina), all of Suffolk, Va.; seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A wake service will be held at Crocker Funeral Home on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 8 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Holland Mission United Church of Christ, 6519 Holland Road, Suffolk, officiated by the Rev.
