Ida Bell Welch, 76, of 515 Kissimee Ave., Suffolk, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Charlie White and Floridia Taylor White. She was also predeceased by her husband, Johnnie Welch.
She was a member of New Paul Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance, where she was a member of the Mother’s Board, Missionary Board, Pastor’s Aid and Willing Workers Club.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Audrey White, of Suffolk; two sons, Curtis White (Venora), of Suffolk, and Thomas White, of Lawrenceville, Va.; two sisters, Betty Goodman and Mary Alice Wilkins, both of Suffolk; one brother, William Wilkins (Deloise), of Newark, N.J.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance, officiated by Pastor Catherine Skinner. Interment will be in Langston’s Cemetery.
