Alberta Thompson, 47, of 99 Heritage Way, Newport News, Va., died Aug. 30, 2009 at her residence. A native of Suffolk, Va., she was a 1981 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School.
Alberta was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Hollomon and her sister, Mary Curtis. She leaves to treasure her memories, her husband, Anthony Thompson, of Newport News; her mother, Mrs. Annie Holllomon, of Suffolk; one son, Anthony Thompson Jr., of Newport News; three brothers, Alvin Hollomon and Frankie Hollomon, both of Suffolk and Charles Hollomon (Tammy), of Corapeake, N.C.; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 at Rising St. James Church with Bishop D.L. Whitfield officiating. Interment will be in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
