Catherine Elise Rock, 86, died Sept. 3, 2009, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Ora L. and Stephen H. Babb Sr. and widow of Howard Bradford Rock Sr. Mrs. Rock was a member of West End Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, William D. (Billy) and Nita Wyatt Sr., of Suffolk, Howard B. and Sharon Rock Jr., of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, William D. Wyatt Jr., of Colosse, Brian Scott Wyatt, wife Gail, of Suffolk, Sarah Elizabeth Rock, of Virginia Beach; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey Blair Wyatt, William David Wyatt III, Bennett Scott Wyatt, Emma Rose Wyatt.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Elizabeth Parham, who was her devoted caregiver and friend. Their appreciation is also extended to her many friends at Lake Prince for their support and kindness and to the physicians at Family Medicine, the nurses and staff at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in West End Baptist Church by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby, the Rev. Michael D. Halley and the Rev. Mary Henderson, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Billy and Nita Wyatt.
