PORTSMOUTH — Lona Bell Boone, 60, died on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009. Lona was raised in Suffolk and was preceded in death by her father, Frank Lewis; sister, Alberta Lewis; brother, Leroy Lewis; son, Shawn Boone; and her father-in-law, Milton B. Boone Sr.
She leaves behind: her husband, Milton B. Boone Jr.; her daughter, Shanda Boone-Hurdle (Michael); five grandchildren, Destiny Boone, TaShawn Boone, Antonio D. Boone, Layla Hurdle and Darrian Hurdle; her mother, Lottie Lewis; her mother-in-law, Lucille Boone; three sisters and four brothers, Mary Eley (Robert), Sarah Williams (Leon), Margie Lewis, Solomon Lewis, Thomas Lewis (Nita), William Lewis and Willie Lewis, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Noble Street Baptist Church, located at 100 Noble St. in Portsmouth. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
