Bernard Calvin Williams Sr., 53, of 209 North Capital St., died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Sentara Nursing Center in Norfolk. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Haywood Williams Sr. and Ola M. Jenning Williams. He also was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia D. Williams.
He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. He retired as a clerk for the U.S. Army CE Company.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Brenda Williams of Franklinton, N.C., Audrey E. Darden of Portsmouth and Carae Pierce of Chesapeake; one son, Bernard C. Williams Jr. of Norfolk; one sister, Eula Mae Williams of Suffolk; three brothers, Langley Williams (Sherry) of Newport News, Haywood Williams Jr. (Cheryl) of Suffolk and Michael A. Williams of Portsmouth; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held at noon, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
