Ferry L. Parker, 81 of 1214 Lakeland Trail, Suffolk died Thursday, Oct.15, 2009 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation Health Care Center in Suffolk. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Ferry Parker, Jr. and Pincola Steward Parker. He was also predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Parker.
Mr. Parker retired as a Health Care Supervisor in New York. He was a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory one brother, Mr. Lewis Parker (Juanita) of Suffolk; three grandchildren; granddaughter, Bonita Parker of Spring Valley, NY; a devoted niece, Deborah Olds (Wesley) of Suffolk; a devoted friend, Mary Harris of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at Crocker Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bishop Madison Copeland. Interment will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Parker, 1120 Portsmouth Blvd., Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
