NEWPORT NEWS — Elsie M. Davis Hite, 85, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Maggie Ward and Jefferson Davis. Elsie had lived in Baltimore for many years working as a cosmetologist before returning to Virginia.
She is survived by six brothers and seven sisters, many nieces, nephews and other relatives who loved her.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, 12749 Courthouse Highway, Smithfield. Viewing will be held at the Funeral Chapel Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.
